When tragedy strikes, sitting back and bemoaning nature’s dispassionate and indifferent havoc is perhaps momentarily satisfying and as natural a reaction as can be expected. That being said, the best remedy is still to roll up one’s sleeves, grit teeth and take immediate and useful action. And this is the exact thing Triad Dragons and Global Dance have teamed up to do. In wake of Haiti’s devastating earthquake, the Global Dance for Life: Haiti Relief Fundraiser concert was created. Taking place this February 20th at the Denver Coliseum, Global Dance for Life is urging all of Colorado’s dance music community to show their love and support by uniting relief efforts for Haiti.
Though jumping on the next plane out to lend a hand may sound like a great idea, the viability of such an option is rather circumspect. A sounder alternative then, is to send monetary resources where it matters. Gathering over 40 of Colorado’s top DJs, Global Dance for Life is pulling out all stops in the short time from now to February 20th to put together a full scale concert event for all ages to come out and show some much needed support. All proceeds go straight to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development fund and for all those who can’t make it, consider getting tickets for friends and loved ones for some seriously good karma.
For all who attend, the promoters respectfully ask one and all to honor Haiti by wearing their national flag colors: blue tops for guys and red ones for the ladies. If you’re going to dance, why not do it for a good cause?
