EVENT DETAILS
Join us in Costa Rica for our 3rd Annual PEX Montezuma Gathering!
Montezuma, Costa Rica is a picturesque small village located at the bottom of the Nicoya Peninsula that is known for its off-beat, bohemian atmosphere and the stunning beauty of its beaches, rivers and waterfalls. For decades, Montezuma has drawn a multi-ethnic blend of naturalists, artists and travelers, seeking an alternative to more touristy destinations.
Montezuma's center, with charming old wood houses, itinerant artists, and vivid street life has a Caribbean flair and feels like the open-air living room of the community where a continuous mellow party takes place.
The small beach village is hemmed in by high cliffs overgrown with jungle where small rivers tumble into scenic waterfalls and natural pools. Groups of Capuchin & Howler monkeys live in the forests that surround the town and will usually visit the hotel every morning.
The PEX Family will be renting out the Hotel Luz DeMono in its entirety and the hotel will become the focal point of the week, with several daytime pool parties, daily yoga classes and other activities. The Hotel is right downtown and restaurants and beaches are all within one block.
The week will highlight beach days, trips to the waterfall, daily yoga classes, daytime pool parties, several private mansion parties, horseback riding, snorkeling and many other adventures.
This has become one of the Favorite annual excursions for the PEX crew and we would love to have you join us.

FAQS:
How Do I get there? Montezuma is on the bottom of the Nicoya Peninsula on Costa Rica's Pacific Coast. There are a few ways to get there. I'll start with the cheapest and then move to more expensive.
You will wan tot fly into San Jose International Airport (SJO) Costa Rica, This is located in the Alajuela area west of San Jose city proper.
To get to Montezuma from San Jose you can take the bus, rent a car, take a shuttle or take another quick flight.
BY BUS: From the airport in San Jose, you can take a taxi (available in front of the airport, once you leave baggage claim) to the bus depot in San Jose. From there, you can take a bus to Puntarenas. The trip will take a couple hours depending on traffic and weather conditions, but its inexpensive. About $7 per person. The airport SJO is actually in the town of Alajuela and there is a bus station there known as La Radial. It is about 5 minutes from the airport by taxi. Or you can also check the bus schedules for the "Coca Cola" station in the City.
For bus to Montezuma, look here www.thebusschedule.com/cr/
BY SHUTTLE: Take A Shuttle, it is about $50 per person each way.
Shuttle info Here: http://www.montezumaexpeditions.com/schedules.htm
Check here for ferry information: www.nicoyapeninsula.com
FLYING TO MONTEZUMA: This is the fastest way but will cost you about $200 more total in travel expenses per person. You will need to book flights on Sansa Air. The flight takes about 1 hour, is beautiful and fun.
You will be flying from San Jose (SJO) to Tambor (TMU). The airstrip that services the smaller planes is right next to the main Airline terminal at the SJO Airport. To get there, walk out of the main terminal at SJO, walk left out to the main street and the entrance is about 50 yards on your left hand side.
Once you land in Tambor you can take a taxi to Montezuma for about $15 pp. Tell them you are going to hotel Luz de Mono.
