Important info for Sunday 8/11:

*Get there early! Last year we had a bunch of people stuck in traffic freaking out all the way up until they boarded the boat. Don't stress yourself out. Check in starts at 2pm and boarding starts at 3pm. Stop by, get your wristband and then hang out at any of the great places right next door. Boat leaves the dock at 4pm with or without you.

*You'll need your ID to pick up your wristbands at will call. No need to print anything else out. This is a 21+ event, no one under 21 will be allowed on board. No exceptions.

*The boat is usually docked right behind Chili's restaurant. Parking is available in the lot next to the Aquarium of the Pacific, on the other side of Shoreline Dr. across from the aquarium or by the Yard House.

*Gents - security may or may not let you wear a baseball hat on board. The venue has assured us they'll be more lenient with our crowd, but still may ask you to remove it at their discretion. This is boat policy due to gang related issues at other parties. If you sport a thuggy style, best to just leave it at home or wear another kind of hat (ie fedora, captain, sombrero, etc).

*No bottle service, no boolsh*t, no douche-baggery allowed. Keep it classy or keep it at home. Smiles will be checked upon entry. :)

★ Doc Martin ★
(Sublevel | Los Angeles, CA)

Doc Martin’s live sets truly bring people together. The variation in his style of music is endless. What makes him so different from the rest? A unique ability to spin everything from deep house vocals that have much depth and meaning to us all in some way, to his funky tribal Bass lines mixed with threads of acid, his passive collection of classics rare records that are only to be heard at his gigs.

Doc Martin has developed the respect as a house DJ that so many of us admire. It is this respect that keeps him constantly touring; from New York to London, Japan, and everywhere in between. He has frequently played at infamous clubs such as: Fabric, Pacha, Ministry, Avalon, and hundreds more. Additionally, he's toured with likes of Basement Jaxx & Daft Punk and played with James Brown, Grace Jones, Inner City, and about anyone else you can think of. ★ Submorphics ★
(Hospital | Spearhead | Good Looking | Innerground | Fokuz | Driven AM | Chicago, IL)

Submorphics (Greg Axelrad) creates deep ocular future funk, with parts retro soul, Detroit/Chicago synthentics, jazz, film soundtracks and indie vibes infusing his harmonies. Beginning on the humble local scenes of Detroit and Chicago, Submorphics has since DJ’ed in over 40 cities, headlining major gigs at Fabric in London, and across Europe and North America. While he is on the decks, Submorphics sonically alloys disparate styles; the grimy and the smooth, the hypnotic and the astonishing.

In the past 7 years his fluid musicality has been embraced by DJs like Fabio, Marky, Bryan Gee, Hype, LTJ Bukem, Bailey and Goldie; with releases “Miles Ahead”, “Step in the Spot ft. Selfsays”, “Mellow Madness”, “Summer Soul” and many more receiving heavy play on BBC Radio One and clubs internationally.

Celebrated primarily for his soulful drum and bass sounds, Submorphics has diversified his repertoire, publishing a plethora of emotive and bass-heavy music in the 100-140 bpm range. The eclectic musician has also taken on the role of producer for vocalists Armanni Reign and Christina Tamayo. Submorphics exploded into 2012 with the release of the anthemic Camo & Krooked- Change Me (Submorphics Remix) on Hospital Records. Subsequently, deep and soulful releases on Drum & Bass Arena, Rubik and Influenza added to his impressive discography.

★ Sammy Bliss ★
(Pocket Underground | Ninja Skillz | The Do Lab | Los Angeles, CA)

Sammy grew up in and around New England, finally landing on the East end of Long Island. Addicted to music at a very young age, Sammy quickly became a skilled mix-tape DJ, but it wasn't until he found himself in LA that the door opened for him to House music and the scene that went with it.

Sammy was introduced to Jesse Wright through a mutual friend in 2002 and that was pretty much the beginning of the end. Together Sammy and Jesse formed Pocket Underground and starting throwing parties in a warehouse location right in the center of Hollywood. Shortly thereafter Sammy took a credit card to Guitar Center and made sweet love to his first pair of Technique 1200's.

Since then Sammy has made asses shake all over the West coast, from San Fran to Mexico. He's had the immense honor of playing every year at The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival since 2007, his crew Pocket Underground held a monthly residency at the mega-club Spundae LA from 2005-2007, and Sammy and Jesse run the Woogie Stage at the annual green festival Lightning in a Bottle where they've booked talent ranging from Lee Burridge, to Sandra Collins, John Tejada, Claude VonStroke, Nick Warren, Jay Tripwire and many more. He's played several times at the SF LoveFest Parade (So fun!!), Avalon Hollywood, Burning Man, Elysium Festival, Fuente Eterno, and more underground parties than you can shake a stick at. Even a really nice stick.

Sammy's deep connection to the dirty, techy, chuggy 4/4 always keeps the crowd riding his wave of delicious tech house and chunky techno right into the dawn. He loves connecting to each and every person on the dance floor as they journey together down the rabbit hole of brain bending beats.

★ Machete ★
(Junglist Platoon | Respect | Los Angeles, CA)

MACHETE ignited his musical journey back in 1992 as DJ Rob G, spinning Hip-Hop at Hollywood afterhours events such as No-Doz, What?, and Caffiend. The Los Angeles underground rave culture was in it’s infancy and Rob was inspired by the techno-breakbeat music emerging out of England via vinyl records played by DJs Raw, Curious, and Oscar da Grouch. These frantic bass-heavy beats that evolved from old-school breaks layered with HipHop and Reggae samples were intriguing and propelled him in a new direction. Rob, encouraged by his peers, changed his professional name to Machete in 1994…a title meant to evoke the nature of his mixing and cutting skills in relation to this new Jungle music.

As DJ Machete, Rob helped put Junglist Platoon on the map with gigs at nearly every Jungle party in the Greater Los Angeles area.A brief residency with Los Angeles mega-promoter Insomniac, plus a noted mention in URB Magazine’s NEXT 100 Issue (1998) garnered much attention. Rob was then featured on various dates of the infamous KungFu-Knowledge Tour of 1999, placing Machete alongside many of the world’s best including DJ Craze, Mampi Swift, and Rob Playford.Machete is well-traveled and has showcased his skills in Costa Rica, Hawaii, Vancouver BC, and in numerous cities and states across the continental US including New York, Washington DC, Miami, Chicago, Atlanta, Texas, Minnesota, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and many more. Machete also made history as one of the very first Jungle/Drum and Bass DJs flown to perform in Anchorage, Alaska.

In March of 1999 the Junglist Platoon began hosting a weekly event called RESPECT with Machete in charge of talent bookings, promotions, as well as being a resident DJ. In March of 2000, Machete organized a RESPECT one-off at the Winter Music Conference in Miami which successfully placed the RESPECT brand at the forefront of Los Angeles Drum and Bass. After 14+ years, RESPECT is the longest running Jungle/Drum and Bass weekly in Los Angeles in addition to being one of the most successful clubs in the United States. RESPECT is globally known for bringing the best international and stateside talent and continues to do so after settling into it’s fifth and most current venue, The Dragonfly in Hollywood.

In 2013 Machete is busier than ever, occasionally opening for mainstream Hip-Hop acts at House of Blues – Sunset Strip combined with DJ residencies at RESPECT, spinning at one-off events, taking on a new role as an agent at Circle Talent Agency, hosting a weekly RESPECT DnB RADIO program, and engaging production projects proving his versatility as an artist. DJ Machete’s longevity speaks for his talents, dedication, and determination which has surely solidified his place as a force in the electronic music scene.
